Licences and attribution

What the included reference material is, what carrying it obliges, and where the software notices live.

The catalogs that ship with DMRealm are built from System Reference Documents released under Creative Commons Attribution. That licence permits reuse, including commercial reuse, on one condition: attribution is carried.

What that means in practice#

  • Attribution text is preserved wherever catalog material appears, including in exports.
  • Your own writing is yours and carries no such obligation.
  • A realm that mixes both keeps the attribution attached to the parts that need it, not to your setting as a whole.

Software licences#

The DMRealm application itself is built from open-source software. Those packages' copyright and licence notices are published on the Licenses & Attributions page at dmrealm.com/legal/licenses, with the full text at dmrealm.com/legal/THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt. They are generated from the application on every build. None of it affects the terms that apply to your realms.
