Roles and membership

What each role can do, and how groups simplify access.

  2. Role sets capability, not sight

You invite people to a realm by link or email and give them a role. Invitations can be resent or revoked before they are used.

Groups#

Members can be organised into groups — a party, a table, a co-writing pair — and access can be granted to a whole group at once. A group membership can also link a person to the adventurer they play.

Role sets capability, not sight#

This is the distinction worth internalising: a role decides what someone may do, and visibility decides what they may see. An editor can rewrite any record they can see — and still cannot see your DM-only sections.
