Open an Audio pack and choose Customize saved pack layout. Move controls within their group, hide unused controls, choose their width, and change the number of columns. The preview stays silent. Save layout applies the arrangement to that pack; the host reloads the pack in the player to use the saved version. Device, mute, and volume preferences remain personal.

Permissions and concurrent edits#

Viewing a pack does not grant editing permission. Saving requires pack edit permission and the Audio module. If the pack changed elsewhere, your save is refused and your draft stays open. Download the layout draft, reload the saved pack, and reapply the changes you want. Offline saves also keep the draft open; reconnect before saving to the Realm.

Local layout editing#

In the desktop player, choose View → Edit Local Pack Layout, open a local VTA pack JSON file, arrange its controls, and save the manifest. This editor works offline and preserves audio references and credits. It does not download audio or add a collection to your Realm. Account packs and protected audio need an authorized connection. Browser playback streams audio and its timing depends on the browser; native output-device and audible synchronization checks are separate.

Shared audio and credits#

Each listener needs permission to read the chosen pack and its sounds. Adding audio from Asset Catalogs is an explicit action in the chosen Realm; opening a pack or layout does not add or upgrade a collection. The player shows credits for the sounds it can use. Unavailable or held sources cannot be fetched, while previously delivered bytes cannot be recalled.
