The journal is where a campaign remembers itself: sessions, notes, and the record of what the party actually did. It is scoped per campaign, and it is the closest thing to session prep and recap in the app today.

Sessions, scopes, and notes#

Notes can be organised by scope so that private planning, table notes, and player-facing summaries do not sit in one undifferentiated pile. Entries connect to the records they mention, so a session about a betrayal is reachable from the NPC who committed it.

Session pages and images#

Select a session marker for a brief preview, then use its arrow or new-tab icon to open the session page and edit its description, thumbnail, background, or attached transcriptions. Each campaign's Assets tab lets you choose its thumbnail and attach images. Drag an attached image anywhere onto a scope, or use Choose background in its menu. Sessions also support image selection and drops.

Use a scope’s menu button or right-click it to edit, choose a background, add a note, insert a scope above or below, or delete it. Drag a session marker onto a scope to link it. Blank fields stay hidden until editing. Notes open from Add note. Comfortable mode shows notes to the right of the scope; Compact mode keeps a notes icon at the scope’s bottom left, opening a popover without adding a row. New scope and New session stay on the right of the sticky view toolbar. The Sessions and Scopes context panels let you jump to entries; Sessions also offers page links. Both density modes show every section title and tag; Compact uses a short text preview for each section. When editing a scope section, type a tag and press Enter to add it. Use a tag's remove button to delete it. Each section supports up to 12 tags of 48 characters each.

While editing a scope, use Add participants to find Adventurers or NPCs. Their portraits (or names when no portrait is available) open details and a new-tab page link. Adventurers sit beside the scope title; NPCs sit below it in Comfortable mode or after a divider in Compact mode. Use a section’s eye button to switch between visible and hidden. Hidden sections can grant exceptions to selected realm groups or users, who must also have access to the scope. Those exceptions are checked by the server.

From audio to recap#

Session audio can be turned into a speaker-labelled transcript and summarised, so the recap does not depend on someone taking notes while trying to play. The AI can also draft a 'previously on' summary or a story-so-far from what the journal already holds.

In Speakers, replay Preview to cycle through different turns from the same voice. Transcript lines show a speaker portrait or type icon, time, speaker name, text, and a play button. Click a line’s portrait to correct who said it. The picker shows each other participant once; hover a portrait to see its name immediately. Add speaker in the Speakers tab creates another voice you can name or link to a participant. Saving a transcript that uses a new speaker saves that mapping first. Reassignment changes only that line. Save controls appear at the bottom only after edits. The audio track marks the visible, focused, and hovered transcript ranges. Seek on the track to reveal a line; playback follows the transcript until you focus its list to read or edit. On desktop, the lists scroll inside the workspace; smaller screens use normal page scrolling.
